I’d like to introduce my grandson Jack. He is 7 yrs old and is an expert on Presidential facts. He memorized and recited all 45 presidents in order in less then 1 minute for his school talent show. Jack has aspirations of being President some day. Here are some of Jack’s Presidential facts with a little help from me.

  1. Chester Alan Arthur owned over 80 pairs of pants. He also was 1 of 5 presidents who was never elected. He assumed office when James Garfield was assassinated.
  2. The first Bath Tub with running water was installed when Millard Fillmore got elected.
  3. Woodrow Wilson was the first president that got a PHD.
  4. Calvin Coolidge had a pet raccoon named Rebecca.
  5. The Hoover Dam was named after Herbert Hoover.
  6. Herbert Hoover was the first president to have a Telephone in the oval office.
  7. Jimmy Carter was a speed reader.
  8. Franklin Pierce was the first president to have a Christmas tree in the White House n 1853.
  9. Theodore Roosevelt was the first president to call his residence in Washington, D.C. the “White House.” Prior to his term, it had been called the Executive Mansion or the President’s House.
  10. One of Jack’s favorite facts, William Taft, who weighed 332 pounds, got stuck in the White House bathtub the first time he used it. A larger one was ordered.
  11. Grover Cleveland personally answered the White House phone.
  12. Harry S. Truman’s mother, a Confederate sympathizer, refused to sleep in Lincoln’s bed during a White House visit.
  13. Andrew Johnson was buried beneath a willow tree that he planted. His head rests on a copy of the Constitution.
  14. George H. W. Bush was the President who refused to eat broccoli.
  15. Donald Trump has a game he made and it is called Trump the game.
